COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS SEEKING HELP

The Western New York Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is looking for volunteers to help with the 2005 Race for the Cure. It takes place at 10 a.m. June 11 at the Delaware Park Rose Garden, as part of a nationwide event that includes more than 100 other cities. Volunteers are needed to help in the food tents, with registration and other tasks on race day.

The race is the foundation's signature breast cancer awareness and fund raising event; in the past four years, the Western New York race has raised nearly $1 million. Lord of Life Adult Day Health Center, 1025 Borden Road, Depew, is seeking volunteers to assist with activities, crafts, manicures, serving meals and other activities. Call 668-8000 for information.

Gardeners are invited to join a community garden in East Aurora. A four-acre plot of land is available, and each gardener can rent a portion of the land to grow vegetables and flowers. For more information, call Martha Collins at 652-1394.
