ROBERT L. GORDON, SELF-EMPLOYED CARPENTER
OCT. 24, 1924 -- APRIL 17, 2005

Robert L. Gordon of Buffalo, a carpenter, died Sunday in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 80.

Born in Montgomery, Ala., he graduated from high school there and served in the Army during the Korean War.

A Buffalo resident since the 1950s, Mr. Gordon was self-employed as a carpenter and worked on numerous commercial and residential projects until about six months ago.

He enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, the former Shirley Barmore; four sons, Robert Jr., Darnell and Saul, all of Buffalo, and Randolph of Cleveland; five daughters, Lucy, Lorene, Shirley Lee, Lillian and Alkeila Cochran, all of Buffalo; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Lombardo Funeral Home, 102 Linwood Ave.
