Louise Paonessa of Niagara Falls, a nurse in the city for many years, died Tuesday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. She was 72.
She was born Louise Ottaviani in Youngstown and attended local schools.
In 1983, she moved to Phoenix and worked at Veterans Hospital there before returning to Niagara Falls in 2003, when she retired.
Her husband, Paul A., died in 2003. Surviving are three sons, Martin R. of Niagara Falls, Paul S. of Phoenix and Joseph W. of Lewiston; a brother, Dominic Ottaviani of Lewiston; a sister, Irma D'Amore of Niagara Falls; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, will be private.
