COMING UP

5K RUN/WALK: Starting today, Niagara Falls State Park will begin its weekly fun run/walk program, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursdays through October. Runners and walkers will meet at the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, north of the Rainbow Bridge. For information, call 278-1764.

INSTRUMENT COLLECTIONS: On Friday, WGRZ-TV Channel 2 and Robby Takac and his Music Is Art Foundation will join with Eagle Scout candidate Matt Kasprzak to collect, refurbish and distribute musical instruments to Buffalo-area schools. Collection sites are Eastern Hills Mall, near Sears outside and at the center court inside, and Walden Galleria, near the movie theater entrance outside and at the front of Kaufmann's inside. All locations will have live music performances throughout the day. Volunteers will be available to accept donations from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Cash donations also will be accepted. COMMUNITY MEETING: The West Side Neighborhood Partnership will discuss the revitalization plan for the neighborhood from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Northwest Branch Library, 271 Grant St.

SILENT AUCTION: Williamstowne Senior Apartments, 51-A Williamstowne Court, Cheektowaga, will host its annual silent auction and baked goods sale beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday.
