Two candidates are unopposed for four-year terms on the Cheektowaga Central School Board.
Incumbent Brian J. Gould is seeking re-election. A Cheektowaga police officer, Gould, 28, was appointed to the board Aug. 8, 2002, and won election to a two-year term the following year.
Newcomer Renee Marie Wilson, 41, is vice president of the Parent-Teacher-Student Association at Union East Elementary and a parent representative on the Committee for Special Education and the Committee for Preschool Special Education. She has worked as a nurse at several hospitals and has run the Kids Voting program in Cheektowaga schools. She was given a community involvement award in January by the Board of Education.
Her election will bring the board to its full seven members. The board has been down to six since Jeffrey K. Speaker resigned in February.
The vote on candidates and the budget will take place from noon to 9 p.m. May 17.
