Kristopher Reumann, a sophomore at Hollan Central School, has been named one of 123 semifinalists for his service with the Holland Fire Company's junior firefighters program in the Huggable Heroes contest sponsored by Build-a-Bear Workshops to honor young people across the country for community service. Kristopher trains with fire and EMT equipment and attends fire company meetings. He is also captain of his junior varsity baseball team and volleyball team.

Who nominated you for the Huggable Hero award?

My mom.

What inspired you to join the junior firefighter program?

The heroes of 9/1 1.

What's the scariest thing you had to do in EMT or firefighting training?

The simulation of a burning building (smokehouse) because of the smoke and the weight of the equipment.

What are you into aside from firefighting?


What are some of your goals in life?

To be on a major league sports team.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Becoming a personal trainer.

Where can somebody find you on a Friday night?

Doing anything sports-related.

From whom do you draw inspiration?

My parents.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Super speed.

If you $1 million, how would you spend it?

I'd buy a new military Hummer.

What was the worst movie of all time?

"A.I. Artificial Intelligence"

What was your favorite childhood toy?

Baseball bat and ball.

People with no sense of humor.
