ON THIS DAY -- In 1812, George Clinton, the fourth vice president of the United States, died in Washington at age 73. He was the first vice president to die while in office. . . . . . . . In 1889, Adolf Hitler was born in Braunau, Austria. . . . In 1971, the Supreme Court upheld the use of busing to achieve racial desegregation in schools. . . . In 1999, the Columbine High School massacre took place near Littleton, Colo., as two students shot and killed 12 classmates and one teacher before taking their own lives. . . .

SOMETHING DIFFERENT -- St. Paul Lutheran Church & Pre-School, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda is sponsoring a barbecue pulled pork dinner from noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The meal, prepared by Ralph's Boar House of North Tonawanda, includes pulled pork, parsleyed potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, roll, dessert and beverage. The tab is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children 3 to 12. Proceeds benefit the church building and utility funds. . . .

GENTLY USED tots-to-teens clothing, books, toys, stuffed critters, high chairs, playpens, strollers, buggies, wagons and outgrown skis will be available for purchase from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 29, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 30 at the Kids Consignment Sale at Unitarian Universalist University Church of Amherst, 6320 Main St. Admission and parking are free.
