Everett J. Wolfert, a Coast Guard veteran of World War II and a longtime Buffalo-area resident, died Saturday in Sunbridge nursing facility, Rochester, N.H., after a brief illness. He was 92.
Mr. Wolfert was born in Utica and graduated from high school in Ilion. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Montana.
Mr. Wolfert moved to Kenmore after the war and lived in the area for about 40 years.
He worked as a postal clerk at the Central Terminal for more than 30 years before he retired.
He moved to New Hampshire 17 years ago to be closer to his son. He entered the nursing facility eight months ago.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Louise Fiedler Wolfert, and son, Wallace, both of Somers worth, N.H.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Burial will be in New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
