MARY SANTAROSA, RAN TRUCKING BUSINESS
SEPT. 17, 1919 -- APRIL 14, 2005

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Santarosa of Lewiston, who ran a trucking business with her husband in Niagara Falls, was offered Monday in St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mrs. Santarosa died Thursday in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston. She was 85.

Born Mary Gentile in Niagara Falls, she attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School.

In 1960, Mrs. Santarosa and her husband, Guilio, founded Santarosa Trucking. She helped run the business for 30 years until retiring in 1990.

She was an active parishioner of St. Mary of the Cataract Church and a longtime member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Her husband died in 1975.

Surviving are a son, Sam of Lewiston; a brother, Joseph D. Gentile of Niagara Falls; and three grandchildren.
