SPEEDING STOP LEADS TO OTHER CHARGES

Driving 59 mph in a 30 mph zone landed a Niagara Falls man in hot water Sunday morning, Niagara County sheriff's deputies said.

Michael D. Williams, of James Avenue, was stopped on Lockport Road slightly before 3 a.m. When police checked his records, they found he had no driver's license, and a Breathalyzer test later showed his blood-alcohol level to be twice the legal limit.

Williams was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding and unlicensed operation.
