Wouldn't it be informative and undoubtedly amusing if someone in the media would interview members of the Citizens Salary Review Commission, who recommended substantial salary increases for our Erie County elected officials and department heads just over a year ago? What were they thinking? What was the obviously flawed criteria that they were using?
It has become obvious how few competent leaders we actually have in county government. Why several of them aren't falling on their swords and resigning immediately is further testament to their cluelessness and arrogance. In a time of scarce financial resources and escalating costs, I just don't observe the financial sophistication, courage or leadership skills that the citizens of Erie County desperately require and deserve.
