Doris J. Young of Buffalo, a retired machine operator, died Tuesday in Sisters Hospital after a long illness. She was 71.
Born Doris Chisholm in Rock Hill, S.C., she graduated from Emmett C. Scott High School there and lived in Harrisburg, Pa., before moving to Buffalo in 1966.
From 1985 until her retirement in 1999, she was a machine operator at Harmac Medical Products.
Her husband, Lindsay J., died in 1962.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda D., and a son, Dwight L., both of Buffalo; a sister, Dorothy D. Simpson of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Birdark Chisholm of Washington, D.C., and Lamar Chisholm and Herbert Chisholm, both of Rock Hill, S.C.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon Monday in Calvary Baptist Church, 1184 Genesee St. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
