Wyoming County supervisors have approved several changes in the Social Services and Civil Services departments.

Supervisors set the salary of Deb Fuest, acting social services commissioner, at $64,000 annually with benefits. Her new duties will begin immediately, county officials said.

Officials said she had to relinquish other duties, including heading the Wyoming County Office of the Aging and the Youth Bureau, both located in county offices on Mungers Mill Road.

Supervisors also introduced Paul Dziama of East Amherst as the new human resources director in the Civil Service-Personnel Department. His two-year term, retroactive to March 21, will runs to March 20, 2007.

Supervisors also:

Voted to establish the position of director of children's and family services within the Social Services Department, at a salary of $40,794.

Voted to establish a human resource officer position in the Civil Service/Personnel Department, at a salary of $65,000.

Both positions are unfilled.

Approved Cheryl Ketchum's $30,000 salary as personnel officer in the Civil Service-Personnel Department. County officials said the salary, essentially unchanged, had to be approved to reflect her additional responsibility of deputy clerk to the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors.
