RIVERSIDE COMES BACK TO WIN

Riverside rallied from a 6-0 deficit on Thursday and beat Hutch-Tech, 7-6, in a Cornell Cup baseball game. Anthony Berdych scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by E.J. Cieslikowski in the sixth. Cieslikowski struck out 12 and helped himself by driving in three runs with two hits. . . . Abel Mulgado fanned 10 while allowing three hits and Joe Czaplicki had four hits in Burgard's 17-8 win over East, formerly Traditional. . . . Eric Agostino pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and freshman Juan Figueroa drove in four runs with four hits as Grover Cleveland downed Seneca, 13-3. . . . Jeff Cox fanned eight and drove in three runs with three hits as City Honors downed South Park, 15-8. Nate Rojek added three hits and scored four runs for the Centaurs. . . . Steve Taborn had three hits and Adam Galligan drove in four runs for McKinley in a 10-2 win over Lafayette.

ECIC I: Quentin Hudson drove in two runs and Ryan Baroudi pitched a four-hitter and drove in a run as Sweet Home blanked Jamestown, 5-0.

ECIC IV: Daren Phillips had three hits and Eric Bermingham added a two-run homer as Eden solved Alden, 12-5.

Monsignor Martin: Chaz Mye fanned nine and Jordan Frey and Nick Pellicore had two hits each for St. Joe's in a 5-2 win over St. Francis. . . . Dan Clifford and Kevin Simpson had two hits each and Matt Cullen scattered five hits as Timon/St. Jude beat Niagara Catholic, 5-2.

Niagara-Orleans: Paul Chase drove in Dan Robinson and Steve Geltz with a single in the first and Steve Geltz struck out 13 in Wilson's 2-0 victory over Newfane. . . . Ryan Hodgins drove in five with home runs in the second and fourth innings and Alex Misiti fanned 12 in five innings as Medina held off Barker, 7-5. . . . Andre Kinder and Bobby Warne both drove in three runs with two hits and Matt Saeba struck out 10 in Albion's 13-2 win over Roy-Hart.

Softball

ECIC I: Katie Pazda had three singles and Stephanie Wydra pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in Clarence's 3-0 victory Lancaster. . . . Kerry Ulmer had two hits and Linsday Rodgers scored twice in support of Jenna Frieling's 13-strikeout performance in Williamsville North's 6-2 win over Frontier. . . . Amanda Cannizzo struck out 13 and had two hits along with Jamie Riddoch in Sweet Home's 4-0 win over Jamestown.

ECIC II: Megan Rumschik scored three runs and Ashley Kotz was 3 for 3 as Williamsville East topped Hamburg, 8-4. . . . Holly Johnson struck out 16 while giving up three hits in Amherst's 4-2 win over West Seneca East. . . . Niki Rieman struck out 11 and had five hits as Lake Shore scored the winning run on an error and beat Iroquois, 4-3.

ECIC III: Chelsea Plimpton and Dana Carter combined on a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts and Jenna Beale-Schwab homered as visiting Williamsville South won its 30th in a row, 11-0, over Springville. . . . Samantha Thompson and Katie Gleiser combined on a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts while Olivia Gmerek (three-run homer) and Shannon Latshaw (three RBIs) carried the offense in Maryvale's 14-1 win over Starpoint. . . . Carine Janis fanned 10 and Lisa Walsh drove in three runs as Depew beat Cheektowaga, 6-2.

ECIC IV: Ashley Wozniak's grand slam in the sixth gave Lackawanna the lead in an 11-8 triumph over Holland. . . . Carlissa Cole had a two-hitter and Maria Blum had three hits for Alden in a 13-3 win over Eden.

Thompson Trophy: Carlie Arnone and Eleanor Kamke had two doubles each and Emily Zuchlewski struck out eight in City Honors' 17-2 win over Buffalo Arts. . . . Jackie Jakubowski had a three-run homer and Meghan Bona fanned eight as Hutch-Tech scored 13 runs in the first and beat da Vinci, 17-2. . . . Liz Zyth scored four runs as Riverside beat Burgard, 14-4, in four innings. . . . Jessica Carr and Sarah Buscaglia had three hits each as Emerson outslugged Traditional, 11-9. . . . Sara Schreckengost drove in three runs and Christine Dombrowski had a two-run triple as Lafayette downed Bennett, 10-7.

CCIAC I: Alicia Morley struck out 13 and gave up only a bunt single in the sixth as Cassadaga Valley beat Cattaraugus/Little Valley, 4-2.

Niagara-Orleans: Brandy Froman drove in seven runs with four hits and Quinn Staines drove in four more runs for Albion in a 21-7 win over Royalton-Hartland. . . . Amber Kraft pitched a two-hitter with no walks as Wilson blanked Newfane, 4-0. . . . Jenn Biernacki fanned 14 while giving up two hits and Brittany Benthin had three hits as Medina beat Barker, 8-0.

CCIAC III: Jamie Reynolds fanned nine and Jen Farley had a pair of hits as Pine Valley scored three runs on wild pitches in a 4-2 decision over Ripley.

Independent: Ashley Szpara had three hits and scored three runs for Immaculata in a 12-2 win over Villa Maria.
