Services and burial for Joan L. Winkelsas of the Town of Tonawanda, a former bank teller, were held April 2.
Mrs. Winkelsas, 79, died March 29 in Millard Fillmore Hospital of natural causes.
Born Joan Floss in Buffalo, she graduated from Bennett High School and worked as a teller for Liberty National Bank, retiring in 1987.
A member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church in the Town of Tonawanda, she was active in parish activities and Catholic Charities. She also was a volunteer for Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Lawrence G. Winkelsas; three daughters, Mary Floss of the Town of Tonawanda, Dianne Bertsch of Kenmore and Donna DiFrancesco of the City of Tonawanda; two sons, Dennis of Norfolk, Va., and Mark of New Albion; a brother, former State Sen. Walter J. Floss Jr. of East Amherst; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
