Free workshops will be held to try to improve the rate of recycling in Buffalo.
Less than 7 percent of all waste in the city is recycled. Advocates are teaming up with the group EarthLinks to offer training sessions for devising innovative ways to encourage people to recycle. Officials from the city, Erie County and Keep Western New York Beautiful will offer a series of workshops that will apply creative problem-solving techniques to recycling.
Residents who attend two four-hour sessions will receive workbooks and a training certificate. The sessions will be held April 30 and May 7. Preregistration is required. For information on times and locations, call Andrew Goldstein at 858-4988 or e-mail him at email@example.com.
