A 26-year-old Fredonia man -- a registered sex offender -- is scheduled to appear in a village courtroom on Wednesday on charges of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old boy.
Michael L. Stebbins of Water Street was arrested March 31 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child.
Fredonia Police Chief Bradley C. Meyers said Wednesday that the incident occurred in November inside Stebbins' home when he allegedly touched a 15-year-old boy and provided the child with beer.
In 2001, Stebbins was convicted of second-degree sodomy. He was later sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation.
Police said Stebbins was on probation at the time of last month's arrest and is classified as a Level-2 Sex Offender in New York State.
