A judge Wednesday sentenced Robbie G. Said to four years in prison in connection with the molestation of three West Side girls.
Erie County Judge Timothy J. Drury told Said, 26, of Bogardus Street, that he wanted to sentence him to 15 years on the charges, but he imposed the lighter sentence because of his plea deal and cooperation with prosecutors in other cases.
The judge noted that one of the victims was a boarder at a Said rental property and that she has cerebral palsy and brain injuries.
Said pleaded guilty Feb. 10 to attempted sodomy.
After the sentencing, neither the judge nor prosecutor Roseanne McMorrow would comment on what assistance Said provided law enforcement.
Said, 26, the father of three children, told the judge the eight months he has been jailed already "has been torture" for him.
Two West Side girls who accused Said of molesting them during a pool party two summers ago were in court for the sentencing, even though Said was never formally prosecuted for attacks on them or for allegedly ordering two "friends" to talk a West Side man out of filing molesting charges against him.
Court officials confirmed that Said was indicted on sodomy charges in the July 2003 molestation of the girl with cerebral palsy in her West Side apartment but that prosecutors allowed him to plead guilty to a reduced charge of first-degree attempted sodomy after he helped them in a Buffalo home invasion prosecution.
