CASE IN FATAL SHOOTING WILL GO TO GRAND JURY

A preliminary hearing was waived Wednesday for Chester W. Bradley Jr., accused of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Lester Miller on Fourth Street on March 18.

Bradley, 21, of Ashland Avenue, is being held in Niagara County Jail without bail. His case will go directly to the county grand jury.

Police found Miller, 51, lying on the floor in a second-floor bathroom. He had been shot in the abdomen and leg. He was pronounced dead a short time later in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

At the time, Capt. Ernest C. Palmer, chief of detectives, said police believed the shooting stemmed from a marijuana deal.
