Ray Ciancaglini scored from third on Andrew McDonald's infield single in the 10th inning to give Niagara a 4-3 victory over the University at Buffalo and a doubleheader baseball sweep at Sal Maglie Field.
Mike Medici scored from second on Jeff Vincent's hit in the sixth to give the Purple Eagles (8-17) a 2-1 win in the opener. Kyle Nicoletta got the save in the first game and the win in the second with three innings of shutout relief.
Phil Vanhorne and Mike Folli each had three hits for UB (11-16) in the nightcap.
In Vestal, Craig King stole home in the sixth inning for the winning run as St. Bonaventure overcame a 4-0 deficit to defeat Binghamton, 5-4, in the opener of a nonconference doubleheader. The Bonnies dropped the second game, 3-2. Damian Blakeley hit a two-run homer and Brian Pellegrini had a two-run single as Bona tied the first game in the fifth. King had two hits in the second game for the Bonnies (14-13). . . . Floyd Albert and Mike Ziewicki (Maryvale) each pitched a three-hitter as Erie Community College swept Corning, 5-0 and 11-0. Clayton Brigham and Bill Kenyon (three RBIs) each had four hits on the day for the Kats (16-7, 9-0 in Region III).
MEN'S LACROSSE: Colgate scored seven unanswered goals in the middle periods of a 14-6 win over Canisius (3-4) at the Demske Sports Complex. Ben Miller, Tom Hensel and Dan Carey scored for the Golden Griffins in a 3-3 first quarter. The Red Raiders (7-4) then ran off five goals in the second period and two early in the third. Kevin Ross scored his 11th and 12th goals for Canisius in the second half.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE: Erin Silkey scored four goals as Buffalo State (5-0, 1-0 in SUNYAC) rallied from four goals down for a 9-8 win over Fredonia.
SOFTBALL: Geneseo swept Buffalo State, 5-2 and 11-5. Emily Goldyn (Lancaster) had a two-run single and Nadine Sirianni had three hits in the nightcap for the Bengals (17-5, 6-4 in SUNYAC).
