FIGHT AT CHILDREN'S HOME SENDS TEEN TO HOSPITAL

A fight between two boys at Wyndham Lawn Home resulted in injuries to a 13-year-old and the arrest of a 16-year-old last weekend.

Responding to a report of runaways, Niagara County sheriff's deputies on Sunday found a 13-year-old who appeared to be badly injured from a fight in his room. An ambulance crew from Wright Corners Fire Company responded and found the boy with the left side of his head swollen, blood in his eye, a swollen arm, hand, ribs and torso, and a possibly broken right arm and two fingers, deputies reported. The boy was transported to Newfane InterCommunity Memorial Hospital.

Nickalaus S. Reed, 16, of Wyndham Lawn was apprehended a short time later after a brief foot chase, city police said.

Reed was arrested on a charge of assault with intent to cause serious harm, sheriff's deputies said. Bail was set at $2,500 in Lockport Town Court with a return court date set for Thursday.
