Stanley Bruce "Sid" Waild, of North Tonawanda, died Saturday at home surrounded by family members while under the care of Niagara Hospice. He was 62.
A lifelong North Tonawanda resident, Mr. Waild was a retired employee of Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems and a former employee of Remington Rand.
An avid hunter, fisherman, scuba diver and boater, Mr. Waild was an active member of the Niagara River Yacht Club on River Road. He was also involved in coaching, umpiring and groundskeeping at the former Ramsey Field on Erie Avenue.
Mr. Waild is survived by his wife, the former Sherry Cunningham; two sons, Andrew of Newburgh and Donald C. of Bowling Green, Ky.; his father, Stanley of Pendleton; a brother, Dennis of Baton Rouge, La.; and a sister, Carol D'Angelo of Sanborn; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd. Prayers will precede the Mass at 9:15 a.m. in the Saber Funeral Home, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda. Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
