Staff Sgt. Christopher W. Dill, the Buffalo firefighter killed in Iraq, was scheduled to pay one last visit to his Buffalo firehouse this evening, when his body is brought back to be buried.
The procession from Buffalo Niagara International Airport was set to carry Dill's flag-draped coffin aboard an Engine 21 fire truck that would pass by his old firehouse, at Jefferson Avenue and Kingsley Street.
There, off-duty firefighters were scheduled to gather to pay their respects to Dill, probably sometime between 6 and 6:30 p.m. today, Fire Commissioner Michael L. D'Orazio said.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. The funeral, with full military honors, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Edmund Church, Ellicott Creek Road, Town of Tonawanda.
