A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles J. Kane, a World War II veteran and retired Ford Motor Co. employee, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Bistrica Catholic Church, 1619 Abbott Road, Lackawanna.
Prayers at 9 in Curtin Funeral Home, 1340 Union Road, West Seneca, will precede the Mass.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.
Mr. Kane, 81, died Monday in his West Seneca home after a short illness.
Born in Lackawanna, Mr. Kane grew up in South Buffalo and graduated from South Park High School. During World War II, he served in the Navy as a radio operator on a minesweeper.
In 1951, Mr. Kane earned a bachelor's degree from Canisius College.
At Ford, he worked in production control offices for almost 30 years until he retired in 1980.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Mary Mac-Lane of West Seneca; a sister, Betty, also of West Seneca; and a brother, Dennis of Buffalo.
