WORKERS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GIVE UP PAID HOLIDAYS

Driving through Main Street in the University Heights District, I was wondering what became of the traffic backup due to the construction. The April 5 News supplied me with the answer. The heavy-equipment operators are on strike. And a quick review of the article could tell you why. The Associated General Contractors no longer recognizes six paid holidays.

The AGC should be reminded that these are the same six holidays that are recognized by the federal government as paid holidays. As a member of Carpenters Local 289, I believe it is irresponsible of the AGC to hold up a Buffalo roads project.
