WOMEN MAY HAVE SET UP DRIVER FOR ROBBERY

Two women who requested a ride home from a local nightspot might have being setting up the driver for a robbery, police said Saturday.

The women approached the LaSalle-area man at about midnight Friday as he left a local bar, police said. During the drive, they directed the victim to the rear of the 1700 block of Ashland Avenue.

When the women got out of the car, two men jumped in and robbed the driver of $50 and his car keys, police said.

One of the men carried a handgun, police reported.
