William C. Rickert, 82, died Friday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston after a lengthy illness.
Born in Niagara Falls, he had lived in Youngstown the last 22 years. He was a 1942 graduate of LaSalle High School and had attended Niagara University and the University of Buffalo.
Mr. Rickert was employed by DuPont Co. in Niagara Falls as a traffic clerk in the Transportation Department. He retired in 1981, after 30 years of service.
He was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. He had served as president of its Church Council and as a Communion Deacon. He also attended Lewiston Seniors.
He enjoyed reading, woodcarving and the arts. He frequented art museums, the symphony and the ballet.
Survivors include a sister, Lois Griebner of Lewiston.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18th Street at Cleveland Avenue, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in the Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
