Amber Keller, who was wounded as an innocent bystander to a gun battle between a Buffalo police officer and a paroled felon, remained in critical condition Saturday evening at Erie County Medical Center.
The 20-year-old Cheektowaga woman has been fighting for her life since she suffered a bullet wound to her head early Thursday.
Officer Thomas P. English fired four shots while returning fire from Mario J. Pittman, a felon on parole, during the incident on Genesee Street near the Cheektowaga border, city police said.
Keller, who was staying with a friend who lives on Genesee, was injured by one of the officer's bullets through a window, according to police. Buffalo police continue to investigate the incident.
