The Niagara Falls Library board of trustees will hold a public information meeting about its proposed budget at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the second floor auditorium of the Earl W. Brydges Main Branch Library, 1425 Main St.
City taxpayers will be presented with a referendum tentatively set for June 21 requesting approval to form a school district library here.
Property owners would then pay a separate library tax for the proposed annual $1.8 million library operating budget.
This is the third meeting to give residents a chance to ask questions about funding, said Library Director Betty Babanoury.
She said the public meetings will most likely continue until the week before the vote.
The board has also set a special meeting for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the main branch before the public session.
