GIFT OF A LIFETIME: MEDAILLE LIBRARY RECEIVES DONATION

Loren Keller, center, a Lancaster native and retired teacher, looks over part of the collection of books he donated to the Medaille College library. With him are Ilona Middleton, left, the college library's director, and Gail Staines, executive director of the Western New York Library Resources Council. Keller, who taught for more than 30 years in the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District, has donated more than 1,000 books of art and poetry, including several he wrote, to the college. The books are part of a private collection he has spent decades building up and have an estimated value of $25,000.
