EDDIE BROWN SR.

Eddie Brown Sr., 85, a World War II veteran and retired maintenance worker, died Thursday at his Buffalo home following a long illness.

Mr. Brown was born in Electric Mill, Miss., and attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during the war.

He worked in maintenance at W.T. Grant's in Erie, Pa., for many years, retiring in 1974.

Mr. Brown moved to Buffalo 19 years ago.

His wife, the former Juanita Morris, died in 1985.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Gadsden and Ida Murphy, both of Buffalo; five sons, Willie of New York City and Anthony, George H., Davis and Herman, all of Erie, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Alice Henderson and Virgie Brown, both of Erie; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Chapels of Buffalo, 66 E. Utica St. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Erie.
