Services for Viester V. Ferguson, a longtime Buffalo resident, will be held at 11 a.m. today in Promiseland Missionary Baptist Church, Mulberry and High streets. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mrs. Ferguson died Monday in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 69.
Born Viester Frank in Winter Garden, Fla., she grew up in Canton, Ohio, then moved to Buffalo in 1952. She was a 1974 graduate of Erie Community College.
Mrs. Ferguson had worked at several businesses and retired in 1995 from Staff Builders.
She was a faithful member of Promiseland, where she served as a missionary. A talented seamstress, she often hosted fashion shows in her home, where she presented her original designs.
Her husband, Edward D., died in 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Ina Downing, and three sisters, Nellie Huguley, Diedre Hughes and Diana Ferguson, all of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Stanley Howard of Phoenix and Enoch Howard of Columbus.
