Robert M. Lunghino, a retired Buffalo firefighter, died March 31 in Queens Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was 59.
Mr. Lunghino was a lifelong Western New Yorker. He was born in Buffalo, where he graduated from Bennett High School, and lived in the Town of Tonawanda.
He served in the Army in the late 1960s.
Mr. Lunghino was a highly decorated firefighter, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Wyland Foundation and Buffalo Fire Historical Society, and was an early financial supporter of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rosemary Betros; a son, Peter M. of the Town of Tonawanda; a sister, Rose Davern of the Town of Tonawanda; and a brother, Richard of Cheektowaga.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Edmunds Catholic Church, 530 Ellicott Creek Road, Town of Tonawanda.
