PROGRAM TEACHES SENIORS ABOUT BENEFITS FRAUD

The Greater Buffalo Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to help teach seniors how to detect and prevent Medicare and Medicaid fraud, waste and abuse.

The federally funded program, called Operation Restore Trust, works in collaboration with the Erie County Department of Senior Services health insurance counseling and assistance program. It sends Red Cross representatives to talk to seniors in apartment buildings, dining centers, senior centers and churches about Medicare and Medicaid fraud.

A training session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon April 26 in chapter headquarters, 786 Delaware Ave. at Summer Street. For information, call 878-2351.
