PROBE OF TRUCK THEFT FOCUSES ON RUBBISH

A spoon might hold a clue to a vehicle theft.

At about 3:20 a.m. Thursday, Niagara County sheriff's deputies discovered a 2000 Chevy S-10 truck, belonging to a Williamsville woman, abandoned in the parking lot of the Factory Outlet Mall. Its stereo had been removed.

The truck, parked next to the Marshalls store, had been reported stolen March 23 from Consumer Beverages on Transit Road in Lockport.

In the vehicle, deputies discovered a container for Chinese food with a spoon and a cash register receipt from a Wegmans supermarket in Cheektowaga.

The material was forwarded to crime scene investigators.
