PRESERVATION LEAGUE CONFERS HONOR ON SHEA'S

Shea's Performing Arts Center has received a Preservation League of New York State Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.

The 1926 theater was honored for restoring its east wall and Main Street terra-cotta and marble facade, replicating the building's pediment, illuminating its arched window and reproducing the 65-foot-tall "Shea's Buffalo" blade sign.

Shea's and other award winners will be honored May 17 in the Museum of the City of New York.
