DONALD WAGNER, COUNTY HIGHWAY FOREMAN
JAN. 6, 1919 -- APRIL 6, 2005

Donald Wagner of New Oregon, a retired Erie County Highway Department foreman, died Wednesday in his at home after a long illness. He was 86.

Born in New Oregon, he graduated from North Collins High School and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. He was a highway foreman for 25 years in Hamburg, retiring in 1981.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Joyce Kestner Wagner; two sons, Michael G. of Saratoga Springs and Joseph D. of Springville; four daughters, Patricia A. Chlebowski of Hamburg, Rita M. Reiter of Collins Center, and M. Janey and Christine E., both of Fredonia; a sister, Sister Paul Marie of France; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 5107 Langford Road, Eden. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
