Donald E. Hanna of Bonita Springs, Fla., a longtime Buffalo-area resident and retired forklift operator, died March 15 in Hope Hospice, Fort Myers, Fla., after a long illness. He was 75.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Hanna retired in 1993 from Ford Motor Co.'s Buffalo Stamping Plant in Hamburg after 29 years of employment. He moved to Bonita Springs in 1995. He was an active member of the United Auto Workers.
Mr. Hanna also lived in Orchard Park and Springville.
A high school graduate, he was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Springville.
Survivors include his wife of five years, the former Johanna E. Russell; two sons, Daniel and Bruce L., both of Hamburg; four daughters, Suzanna Hanna McNaughton, Sharon Sanchioni, Barbara Collins and Michelle Fischer, all of Hamburg; two sisters, Alice Palmer of Sanibel Island, Fla., and Peggy Hartman of Hamburg; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the home of James and Ann Russell, 11 Schultz Road, Orchard Park.
