Theresa Mroz Tubin, a longtime math teacher and high school math coordinator in her native Massachusetts before she moved to Williamsville five years ago, died Sunday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a lengthy illness. She was 77.
A native of Lowell, Mass., the former Theresa Rodgers earned a bachelor's degree from Emmanuel College in Boston and masters degrees from Boston University and Boston College.
After her husband, Henry J. Mroz, the former Lowell Public Schools superintendent, died in 1994, she retired to Palm Beach, Fla.
While in Florida, she met Harry Tubin, owner of H. Tubin Construction Co. of Buffalo. They exchanged marriage vows in 2000 and lived in Williamsville until Tubin died in 2003.
Survivors include a stepson, Bruce Tubin of East Amherst; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Michelson of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday in Holy Trinity Polish Catholic Church, Lowell. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
