A garage at 75 Labelle Ave. that has been the source of complaints for years must be demolished, according to the Blasdell Village Board.
Declaring the structure "dangerous and unsafe," the board Monday voted to proceed with demolition and to bill the property owner.
Neighbors have complained about the property for years, and the owner promised last May that it would be taken care of, Village Administrator Janet L. Plarr said. The house was razed, but the garage remains.
Before the village can act, it must serve the owner with legal papers and schedule a public hearing.
The owner, Sylvia Frost of Orchard Park, said Wednesday night that a building contractor told her that there is nothing wrong with the structure and that she had it painted last summer.
"I feel I'm being singled out because the mayor lives nearby," she said. "There are plenty of other buildings that are 100 times worse."
