TWO ARE APPOINTED TO FILL SEATS ON IDA

The Niagara County Legislature on Tuesday appointed Henry M. Sloma, of Lewiston, and Angelo Massaro, of Niagara Falls, to vacant seats on the Industrial Development Agency.

Sloma, a former nursing home administrator, is a member of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Board of Commissioners, and Massaro is attorney for the Niagara Falls School District.

Legislator Renae Kimble, D-Niagara Falls, voted against the appointments because there are no minorities on the board.

Also, the Legislature voted 16-2 to request that the IDA board institute a public comment period at its meetings.
