SUBSTANCE ABUSE FACILITY PUTS FOCUS ON WOMEN

Beacon Center, a substance abuse treatment facility, is offering a program for women who have problems with alcohol or other drugs or for those who are in relationships with alcoholics or drug addicts.

"Beyond Trauma: A Healing Journey for Women" consists of individual and group therapy to allow women to work through the abuse they have experienced without reliving it. Participants will learn various coping mechanisms, including exercises to help them feel grounded and focused on personal safety.

The program is offered at Beacon Center's four locations: 295 Main St.; 3140 Sheridan Drive, Amherst; 36 East Ave., Lockport; and 473 Third St., Niagara Falls.
