Canisius (3-1) scored six times in the second quarter in a 12-7 men's lacrosse victory over winless Robert Morris (0-9) in a nonconference game Tuesday at the Demske Sports Complex.

Brad Favero and Dan Carey had three goals and Kevin Ross scored twice for the Golden Griffins.

SOFTBALL: Buffalo State (12-1, 3-1 in SUNYAC) defeated Brockport, 4-2, behind the pitching of Kristen Scheffold (Lancaster), who is 6-0 on the season. The Golden Eagles came back to take the nightcap, 3-2, handing Melissa Balsavage (Depew) her first loss in five decisions. . . . Amanda Baker had three hits and three RBIs in the first game and Laren Smith (Kenmore East) went 4 for 4 in the second as Medaille split with Pitt-Bradford, winning by 9-6 and losing, 8-7.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE: Miko Daluisio (Lancaster) scored twice and along with goalkeeper Whitney Gill (16 saves) turned in a strong defensive game as Niagara (4-1) won at Binghamton, 11-7. . . . Jamie Gregorio scored five goals and Kim Coleman had four in Medaille's 13-2 win over Wells College.

BASEBALL: Rob Maxwell (Sweet Home) pitched Brockport over Fredonia, 14-3. Bobby Edwards (Silver Creek) pitched a six-hitter and Donny Burch hit his second home run of the day as Fredonia took the nightcap, 4-3. . . . Chris Wood hit two two-run homers in the opener and Bobby Bell pitched a two-hit shutout in the second as ECC swept two at Finger Lakes CC, 10-4 and 2-0. Scott Caruana of the Kats his a solo homer in the second game.
