Erie County sheriff's deputies arrested an Amherst man accused of pushing his former girlfriend, then kicking in a locked bedroom door after she attempted to get away from him in her Alden residence early Tuesday.
Deputies responded to a Rusher Drive apartment following the complaint by the 40-year-old woman, who had an order of protection against her former boyfriend, identified as Richard A. Gray, 40, of Carmen Road. The woman had her infant in the apartment during the incident.
Gray fled from the scene before deputies arrived and was apprehended later at his home by Amherst police. Deputies charged Gray with felony criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief and harassment, the sheriff's office said. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, prior to his arraignment.
