YOUTH BUREAU TO PRESENT AWARDS FOR SERVICE

The Hamburg Youth Bureau will honor its Service to Youth Award winners during a banquet April 20 in Romanello's South restaurant. Ticket information is available by calling 646-9406, Ext. 264.

Members of the Reid Family will receive the Human Spirit Award in memory of their son, Kyle, an eighth-grader who died of cancer in 1999. The family created the Kyle Reid Fund, which has contributed to numerous youth programs.

Also to be honored are Edward Warhol and John Kraus. Warhol has been active in Scouting and has been involved in baseball, softball and lacrosse. Kraus has been involved in youth baseball and basketball.

William Nye and Rev. Michael Laskey will receive the Michael J. Dundon Service to Youth Award.

Nye, the Village of Hamburg recreation director, will be honored for his volunteer coaching and officiating work. Laskey is campus minister for St. Francis High School and moderator of the Franciscan Youth Ministry and volunteer coordinator at St. Francis.

Also to be recognized are students from the Hamburg Youth Engaged in Service program, the Peer Listening and Peer Helping programs and Hamburg Chamber of Commerce scholarship winners.
