TWO TRAPPED IN VEHICLE ESCAPE SERIOUS INJURY

A Jamestown couple escaped serious injury Saturday when they became trapped in their vehicle after it skidded off icy Route 60.

Walter Carlson, 62, and Sharon Carlson, 59, of Locust Street, were southbound at about 10:05 p.m. when their vehicle ended up on its side in a ditch.

Passing motorists helped and summoned the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department and rescue crews. The two were evaluated in WCA Hospital, Jamestown, then released.
