SEDOTA PLANS TO RETIRE BUT WILL STAY ON THE JOB

After 28 years of service, James Sedota will retire from his duties as village administrator/clerk-treasurer, Village Board members learned Monday.

Sedota's retirement from a job that pays him about $65,000 per year is effective June 2, but he will stick around for a while after that.

Under a deal approved Monday by the Village Board, the village will rehire him June 6 at a salary of $25 per hour, up to $1,000 per week. When a successor is named, Sedota will resign and continue to receive that salary while working with the village as an adviser to assist and help train his successor until at least May 15, 2006.

Also during Monday's reorganization meeting, Sedota and Mayor Frank Pagano swore in two new trustees, Gary Damico, who is starting his second four-year term, and Michelle Twichell, who is beginning her first. Justice David Prince also was sworn in for a new term.
