Friends of Harmony's fund-raising musical performances of "Rags to Riches" will be held at 8 p.m. May 6 in East Aurora High School, 1003 Center Road, East Aurora, and 8 p.m. May 7 in Sweet Home High School, 1901 Sweet Home Road, Amherst.
The benefits will help defray costs of the barbershop chorus, which plans to compete in the International Competition in Salt Lake City in early July.
Friends of Harmony is a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
John G. Berkhoudt, chorus manager, said the group performs in theaters, nursing homes, hospitals and community parks. The nonprofit group, which started in the 1970s, is made up of 86 men. The barbershoppers last fall won the Seneca Land District competition, besting 19 choruses from upstate New York and northwest Pennsylvania.
