DWI CHARGED AS POSTS NEAR CASINO ARE HIT

Ashford Hartunian, 50, of Akron Road, Lockport, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 1:10 a.m. Monday after he allegedly ran a stop sign at the Seneca Niagara Casino on Fourth Street and hit three casino light posts.

Niagara Falls police say Hartunian will be charged with felony DWI since he had a prior conviction in 1997.

A Seneca Niagara Casino parking attendant said Hartunian went through a stop sign and then accelerated his vehicle, hitting the three light posts. The attendant took Hartunian's keys and called police.
