Hundreds of pounds of scrap titanium, worth $5,500, were stolen in two separate burglaries at Goldman Titanium on Dorothy Street, city police said.
The most recent burglary happened between 2 and 6 a.m. Friday, when somebody cut the fence to gain entry into the warehouse at 195 Dorothy St. and took 500 pounds of titanium turnings.
The company also disclosed the theft of several hundred pounds of titanium turnings sometime last week. A fence also was cut to gain entry.
Goldman Titanium analyzes and identifies incoming scrap metal in many forms, processes it and then sells it to a variety of industries and customers.
